KIBATSI TECHNICAL INSTITUTE GOES ONLINE COURTESY OF DOTKOM THINKERS

As COVID-19 pandemic hits the education sector, Kibatsi Technical Institute in Ntungamo District has decided to embrace doing work online.
This was unveiled over the weekend when the institution installed a Finance and Results Management System that will be helping them manage their operations. The system which was designed and deployed by Dotkom Thinkers Ltd, a Kampala based IT firm was funded by TAPTVIU an association that brings together all technical institutes in Uganda. While officiating the training Rev Etheria K Mwebembezi the chairman Board of Directors, thanked Dotkom Thinkers for being innovative and developing a program that is meant to ease management of institutions even amidst COVID-19.

Muhimbise George who is the manager of Dotkom Thinkers encouraged the staff to utilize the software system. Mubimbise who is also an expert in management said that such systems are an important tool in management since they automatically enable checks and balances in an organization or a company. He said that with that system in place, the institutions finances would be managed properly since the system puts many controls to stop finance misappropriation. He said that with this system, there is accountability since its easy to track who does what on the system hence enforcing self-monitoring. On his part the Principle Mwijuka Johnson thanked Dotkom Thinkers for the good job and asked all other institutions to embrace technology.

As we talk, its all smiles at Iganga Technical Institute as they got enrolled on an institutions management system that will help them manage their finances, results and other operations. All this happened last week when Dotkom Thinkers enrolled the system on this institute making a total of four institutions that have so far benefited from the system. Dotkom Thinkers known for developing software systems has started on revolutionizing management in the education sector by developing IT software programs that fit the school needs.

They have systems that manage from primary, secondary and also higher institutions of learning. The system at Iganga was funded by The Association of Public Technical Vocational Institutes of Uganda under SDF RPL project. David Eriachu the Principal of Iganga Technical Institute expressed his appreciation for this program and asked his staff to use it for the benefit of the institution.

On 17th August 2020 Dotkom Thinkers Ltd installed and trained staff in using the Institutions Management system at Nawanyago Technical Institute in Kamuli District – Eastern Uganda.
The system which will be used by the institution to manage its finances and academics was developed by dotkom Thinkers Ltd to help institutions in managing their operations. The system which was first installed at Kiryandongo Technical institute is capable of producing all financial reports by a single click without bothering the accountant to first make calculations.
Nawanyago bursar Kyalisiima Johnson said, “am now relived of most of the work, this system will help me to get all the reports I want without any hustle” according to the Principle Nawanyago Rose Martha, failure to have such systems makes people be inefficient but also people make errors which are avoidable which she said is going to stop.
The system which has an online version also helps the staff like instructors to feed in any information like marks even from their phones or computers even from their homes which makes it operate easily and with convenience.
In his remarks, Muhimbise George the manager Dotkom Thinkers Ltd asked the staff to embrace Information Technology saying that it’s the only means how they can match the competitiveness in the world. On his part Ashaba Vincent the Chief Executive Officer of Dotkom Thinkers encouraged the institution to utilize the system to manage the daily challenges and because it is a user-friendly system that is designed to suit their needs.
